Heritage Open Days 2026
We are pleased to advise that once again, The Ipswich Society will Coordinate the Heritage Open Days National festival in Ipswich in 2026. The theme for 2026 will be 'Everyday Histories'. This theme ties in perfectly with a new project that we are partnering with the Wolsey 550 Team and Sizewell Creative . We will be working with School Children in Ipswich to create Digital Avatars and a Trail of some of our town's Blue Plaques - 'everyday histories' for today's generatio

Blue Plaque for Kavas Badshah OBE
On Saturday 15th November 2025 and hosted jointly with Ipswich borough Council, The Ipswich Society unveiled our latest Blue Plaque to Kavas Badshah OBE. (Followers may be familiar with Badshah Avenue in Ipswich). Mr Badshah was born and educated in Mumbai and London, was a senior officer of the Indian Civil Service and who eventually retired to Ipswich, where he contributed to civil life and served as Mayor.
