About the event

In his youth John Constable was a regular visitor to Ipswich and sketched with local artists. To celebrate 250 years since his birth we have arranged a guided walk for Ipswich Society members on July 21st at 7pm starting from Admiral House in Tower Street.

This popular walk gives a glimpse of the town and people known to the artist and how later painters were influenced by his work. It is led by Society member Margaret Hancock and timed to coincide with the new Constable 250 exhibition at Christchurch Mansion ‘The Haywain: Walking Constable’s Landscape’.

Cost: £5 (pay on the day). Places limited to 20 people, so booking is essential, contact me at secretary@ipswichsociety.org.uk
