The Ipswich Society first registered its domain name in April 2001 and its web presence was a single page. Our original website was developed from 2004 and was run for many years by Ed Broom; support in preparation of each Newsletter's articles was provided by Honorary Secretary, Caroline Markham. The extra work involved meant that information within individual articles was searchable on the World Wide Web. This makes interesting and often authoritative material accessible to all browsers on the internet throughout the world. This approach to access continues on this successor website (launched in April 2016).
Regularly updated and with a changing selection of photographs of the town, the Ipswich Society's first website provided instant access to information.
The Newsletter page established itself as a growing resource for researchers and those interested in the town and that ethos continues in our Newsletter section.
