The Holi Festival of Colour

The Holi Festival of Colour took place in Holywells Park in Ipswich on Saturday, April 2. The traditional Hindu event, held in collaboration with Ipswich Borough Council, aimed to welcome spring and mark the new life and energy of the season. It saw participants cover each other in brightly-coloured powder. The festival of Holi can be regarded as a celebration of the colours of unity and brotherhood. It has traditionally been celebrated in high spirit which breaks all barriers of discrimination. Holi included a bonfire, Bollywood entertainment, henna hand painting and Indian food stalls.
