'Petitions from Suffolk, Before and During the Civil Wars & Interregnum' is the clearly named title of a variety of documents selected by Frank Grace, local historian, former lecturer at Suffolk College and Ipswich Society member. There are petitions addressed to King Charles I, to Parliament, to Cromwell, to Fairfax, etc. They illustrate the importance of religion and the fears created by the political crisis and the consequences of war.
